Introduction

ProTarget offers a novel method for the prediction of new structural superfamilies.

Given a new sequence, it is inserted into a hierarchical clustering of the protein space, and its location relative to known (solved) structures is computed.

Based on the distance in the hierarchy between the new sequence and solved structures, a prediction is made, along with a score indicating the confidence associated with this prediction.
